About the Organization:

African Community Housing & Development (ACHD) is a community-founded organization led by visionary Black women and a community Board of Directors. ACHD works towards an informed African Diaspora immigrant and refugee community that is engaged in the holistic development of families, communities, and environment. ACHD focuses on equitable and culturally-relevant health, legal, and educational services; housing stability and economic development; and land-use, real estate, and property development. ACHD staff speak a collective 12 languages, and 85% identify as BIPOC.

ACHD understands the historical values and importance of organizing, strengthening, and honoring collective wisdom. ACHD collaborates with many organizations working on similar goals throughout South King County, including community-based organizations, small business owners, parent groups, and coalitions. 

Position Duties:

  • Review grant award and government contracts, and transfer action items and deadlines into
  • Understand the nature of the award by reviewing the project description including RFAs/RFPs/project narratives and other supporting documentation
  • Gather and organize information on financial and narrative reporting requirements
  • Initiate program kickoff meetings with program leads, department heads, and other implementing staff to communicate key deadlines and compliance requirements 
  • Gather all reporting materials and coordinate relevant department head approvals
  • With oversight from the Director of Finance, submit and monitor all invoicing and reporting to contract funders
  • Assist with preparing files and reports for auditors
  • Assist the Director of Finance & Operations with general administrative tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands, establish priorities, and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Team player; accustomed to work collaboratively in an energetic environment
    • Two or more years working in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or related field
      • Background check will be required

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field 
      • Demonstrated experience in project management
      • Experience with and/or QuickBooks

      Supervisory Responsibilities:  

      This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
